Jordan EJ13 - 2003
This is the Jordan EJ13 Formula One race car that competed in the 2003 World Championship season. That year, the Jordan team parted company with their engine supplier Honda, as they left to concentrate on their own partnership with BAR, so Jordan were left with 4-cylinder Ford Cosworth engines, but even with the lesser engine power the Jordan team were able to taste victory again in 2003.
The win came under extraordinary circumstances in the Brazilian Grand Prix which took place in torrential weather conditions. Following a huge accident at the start/finish straight, the red flag came out and the race was stopped. After some initial confusion, at the end of the race, Giancarlo Fisichella was initially ruled to have finished a still remarkable 2nd behind Kimi Raikkonen who took the top step on the podium. However, a few days later, an FIA inquiry led to Fisichella being officially declared the winner of his first F1 race, due to Raikkonen being handed a time penalty. He, therefore was unable to celebrate his first career victory on the top step of the podium, although he and Raikkonen swapped their trophies in a presentation at the following GP.
