Jaguar R3 Pininfarina - 2002
This is the Jaguar R3 Formula One car that was Pedro de la Rosa's regular car during the 2002 Formula One season, which then later was used for tests in the Pininfarina wind tunnel. The colours represent the air pressure around the car; blue for low, green for neutral and red for high pressure which creates the downforce, which keeps the car stuck to the road at high speeds.
The R3 has basically been designed by transforming the previous R2 from the season before, and both in effect, are developed versions of the much anticipated original design that promised so much but delivered so little, due to chronic reliability issues.
In 2002 the teams drivers were; Eddie Irvine and Pedro de la Rosa, with the cars best finish of the season coming at the Italian Grand Prix, Monza, where Eddie Irvine drove the car to its first podium finish.
